In making the Roadford caps, we have upcycled old blue, green and red striped hemp grain sacks, turning them into one-of-a-kind caps. Made from hand-loomed heavyweight linen from Hungary and Romania, the earliest examples date from the late 19th century.
In different shades of oatmeal, few caps are identical. Most feature uniform parallel stripes in muted blues and reds and in different widths, which identifies the farm where the sack originated from.
Some caps may be softer and more slubby, while others have a stiffer more robust texture. Each, however, softens over time and will look even better with age.
